Stories of Transformation
The impact you can have through employing Third Street Businesses.
Her name is Erica, but we call her “Sunshine”. She is one of the neighborhood kids that has been a part of the Third Street family for a few years. When Erica started with us, she jumped into violin, choir, arts, and pretty much any programming we offered. Through spending time with her, it has become clear that Erica is talented when it comes to step dancing. This coming spring, Erica will be leading a step dancing team here at Third Street. Erica is already a leader at 13!
Jemeatrious, “Meat”, is one of the stories we hope for at Third Street. Homeless when he started, Meat just needed someone to give him a shot. As he went through our training for grounds maintenance and started working with Third Street Facility Services, it became clear that he had the potential to become a leader. Now Meat has a home, his own car, and is second in command for the Third Street Facility Services crews.
Third Street Academy Gentlemen
When you ask a child what they want to be when they grow up, no one ever says “I would like to be homeless, I want to be go to prison, or I want be an absent dad.” For some of our young men, this is the model of adulthood they are seeing daily.
